Yes, there are bleeder valves for cooling systems for 99 Malibu.
No, older cars didn't have bleeder valves on the cooling systems.
on top left facing engine,it is a small valve on top of pump!! on v6.
should be located right above the #2 spark plug wire on the pipe that comes out of the block.
If you see bleeder valves on the cooling system use them to bleed the system. Otherwise, remove the radiator cap, turn the heater control to hot, start the engine, keep the coolant topped off, and watch until no more air bubbles are escaping.
When the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap, top off with a 50/50 mix, and start the engine. This will allow air to escape from the radiator. It may also have bleeder valves located high on the cooling system. The location will be listed in your owner's manual.
Start the cold engine with the heater on hot, radiator cap removed, & front of the car jacked up. Make sure the radiator is full, and keep a close watch to make sure it stays full. As you run the engine and the themostat opens, the air should escape from the system. Also look for bleeder valves which will usually be located on the highest points of the cooling system. While the engine is running, open the bleeder valves slightly to remove any trapped air. You may or may not find bleeder valves. You may have to do this a couple of times to remove all trapped air. Check the level of the coolant for the next few days to make sure it stays full. As the air leaves the system the coolant level goes down.
Hi,The bleeder valves (there are two) are located on both sides of the engine. There is one above the water pump and one located very close to the thermostat housing. The water pump is located on the left side of the engine, as you face it from the front, and the thermostat housing is on the right side of the engine, very close to the throttle body.I have included a link to a site that has pictures of where these bleeder valves are located.Good Luck, Greg
