Follow 1/2 inch tube from air cleaner on right side of car behind headlight bucket.
breather tube breather tube
There is a small chrome breather tube going to the air cleaner from the oil tank. After the bike sits all the oil drains down to the tank and when you first start the bike because of the low volume oil pump the some oil goes through the breather and into the air cleaner. you can go to a dealer they have a kit to fix that problem.
breather tube from crankcase or valve cover brings blow-by to the air cleaner to reburn. excessive blow by will be heavy with oil in the air.
Crankcase breather tube.
Air Cleaner (Element) Removal & Installation1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Remove the outlet tube clamp from around the air cleaner element housing and remove the tube from the air cleaner housing. Position the tube out of the way. 3. Remove the air cleaner element from the air cleaner housing. 4. Installation is the reverse of removal.
The engine should have a crankcase breather tube connected between the valve cover and the air cleaner. With the crankcase breather removed and a non-vented cap installed on the valve cover in its place, the PCV would create the vacuum you have.
Oil coming from the air cleaner on a 2008 Harley can indicate several issues, primarily related to the engine's breather system. A common reason is excessive crankcase pressure, which can force oil vapor into the air cleaner. This may be due to worn piston rings, valve seals, or a clogged breather system. Additionally, overfilling the engine oil can also contribute to oil leaking into the air cleaner.
"Why is your Breather tube for the transfer case blowing out transmission fluid in your 1998 Chevy SIlverado Z71?" Check the level of fluid, it is most likely overfilled. Heat will expand the fluids, that's why there is a certain fill point. The breather tube is to let air out from the expansion of fluid, and to let air back in when fluid cools. "Hence" A Breather Tube 70 GTO Judge And a whole lot of other GMs
The smoke is because the oil is coming through air cleaner and pcv valve out of valve cover at freeway speeds blow by pushes oil through vent tube into air cleaner and PVC they are on the same line have not figured out why yet I think its a bad breather design take air cleaner off and you will oil in there
The throttle body is located off of the air cleaner box. Just follow the big black tube from your air cleaner. Remove the top portion of your air cleaner box and the entire tube. It's at the end of that.
Check your oil, if it looks the same you may have a blown head gasket. If your oil looks okay you may just have had some water get in it from somewhere else. I found that i had milky residue in my breather and the problem ended up being the carb was forcing air back down the breather tube. When air is forced into a small space it compresses and moisturises. The solution was to take off the breather tube and put a cap or separate breather filter on it.
Too much crankcase pressure or the breather pipe is split/dosconnected. The crankcase breather goes into the rear of the air filter and the crankcase gasses are drawn in to the cylinder with the gas/air mixture and burned
