Can't get the dodge Daytona charger out of park what can be wrong?

There is a small piece of pink plastic inside the transmission box that's just under the shifter knob that is known to break, and is the most likely cause assuming that the key is in the ignition and has been turned and the brake is being depressed.

The fix is manageable if you have some skill with auto repairs (transmission experience not required), and a replacement piece can be found online. I got a metal piece to replace mine a while ago.
