NO....if Fuel pump doesnt sent fuel to engine...engine cannot combust...
IT TURNS OVER BUT WONT FIRE
If it cranks but doesnt start it could be your fuel pump relay or your fuel pump could be bad.
broken fuel pump/ fuel filter can cause car to die right after starting. If the fuel pump is not pumping fuel into the engine, the car will stall.
Under the hood find the carburetor and the gas line leading into the carburetor and disconnect or cut it and try to start the car if when you start the car and gas squirts out its not the fuel pump but if it doesnt do anything it is your fuel pump
constantly running your car with low fuel will burn out your fuel pump
trac off light came on while i was driving my cavalier. it was the fuel pump. reach under car and hit the center of the gas tank with either a closed fist or a rubber mallet. if car starts for a few seconds it is your fuel pump. if not, it doesnt rule out the fuel pump. it just means hitting tank didnt work as a test.
It is an electric pump and it is inside the fuel tank. I have replaced one. it has two look under the car a fuel filter and a fuel pump in a small cage under the car on a right hand drive car on is on the left hand side. change the fuel pump relay first before any work on the pump.
if you think your fuel pump died, you can hit the bottom of the tank right in the middle.center. use a closed fist or a rubber mallet. if your car starts up for a second or two, it is your fuel pump. if your car does not start, it doesnt rule out the fuel pump, it just means its completely broken or you didnt hit directly below the pump.
If the fuel pump is inoperative, the car will not start.
reset auto fuel shut off
either your fuel pump is about to go out or you just have a noisy fuel pump but its because it is always pumping fuel when the car is running
you mean your fuel pump was working until you ran out of gas and now it doesn't work? yes, if you have an electric in-tank fuel pump, you need a new one. fuel pumps in the tank require lubrication to prevent them from overheating, and the fuel in your tank keeps the fuel pump "wet". when you run out of gas, you run it "dry" and will destroy the fuel pump.
