where is number one on a vortex 4.3 v-6 distributor cap
AnswerThe sensor is located in the distributor on the rear of the engine. The distributor has to be pulled to be able to remove the sensor.
To avoid a vortex in liquid outlets, simply install a vortex breaker over the liquid outlet. This works in both gravity drained and pumped applications and prevents the vortex from limiting flow rate or carrying a vapor bubble to the pump impeller.
YES just follow the plug wires to the top rear of the engine and you will see them pluged into the distributer cap.
Yes their the same block....
It is done electronically. You can't move the distributor like the old days.
The oil pressure sensor on a 5.7 GMC vortex engine is located next to the distributor. This will be towards the back of the engine block on the right hand side.
That truck still has a distributor, it doesn't have a crank position sensor.
It is located on the back of the block at the top near the distributor.
It is mounted on the left rear top side of the intake. It will have a plug wire coming out of it and going to the distributor cap.
The timing on that engine is computer controlled. It requires an engine scanner to set the timing. No other way.
It is under the distributor cap on the left side of it. That's while standing in front of the engine. It is bolted to the distributor plate and has an electrical wires pluged into it. The electric wires on the right side of the distributor goes to the ignition module.( It's on the Rt. side standing in front of the motor. You do not have to pull the distributor.)
