You can if you get the PCM / power train controll module and wiring harness for the 4L80E transmission.
Not without major modifications. The 4L80E is shifted electronically, while the 700r4 is not. can you specify what kind modifications?
First of all, The 97 trucks did not have the 700r4 in them. The 1/2 tons had the 4L60E and the 3/4 tons used the 4L80E. Any year 700r4 transmission will work in the 84 as long as it is out of a truck.
NO you can not. It MUST have the 4L60E put back in it. Because of the computer system.
700R4
The most common transmission in a 1993 Chevy Z71 with the 5.7 liter motor is a 700R4.New answer: The 93 1/2 tons have the 4L60E in them and the 3/4 Tons have the 4L80E in them.
That would be the 700R4
Yes.
NO it will not WORK... That truck must have the 4L80E transmission put in it DUE to the COMPUTOR That's in the 93 truck.
It should be a 700R4
That will be a 700R4 transmission.
The correct answer is a resounding MAYBE. It depends on what vehicle the 1993 is. Camaro, Caprice, corvette, firebird and yukons all got the 700r4 in 1993. Astros, Blazers, Suburbans, c&k 1500, and G series (vans) all got the 700r4 (aka 4L60) until 1992. in 1993 the 4l60e and 4L80e were introduced. They WILL NOT WORK IN A TRUCK BUILT BEFORE 1993. The 700r4 (4L60) is a vacuum shifted gearbox, the 4L60E & 4L80E are ELECTRONICALLY shifted (hence the "E"). The primitive "computer" used up until 1992 WILL NOT support the Electronic shift.
700r4 if its an automatic
