Usually an indication of a problem within the emission control system Have the vehicle scanned to determine the problem
Engine overheating. Check the radiator for leaks in the hose pipe or radiator, otherwise the water pump is faulty and will need replacing

First, check the EGR valve for leaks and/or proper installation. If that's not it, check for vacuum leaks.
Maybe it is-check your timing. Also check for exhaust leaks.
