According to the 1996 Mercury Cougar Owner Guide : ( 18.0 US. gallons / 68.1 liters )
The 1996 Mercury Cougar XR7 does not typically come with Zerk fittings. Most modern vehicles from that era, including the Cougar, utilize sealed components that do not require regular greasing. However, if any aftermarket parts were installed or if the vehicle has been modified, it's possible that Zerk fittings could be present in those components. Always refer to the owner's manual or a service manual for specific details regarding maintenance for your vehicle.
