No you do not, but you will have to take the motor mounts loose and raise the engine up a few inches.
You have to pull the oil pan. In order to do that you have to pull the motor. I just replaced the motor with a brand new one in my 5.2. Make sure you set plenty of time aside. If you do pull the motor. Do not unhook the brackets that are connected to the front end and the motor. Good luck

in the oil pan. oil pan has to come off to change it. i dont know about the v6, but the 2.2 either have to pull the motor, or pull the starter, transmission, exhaust, and loosen mounts and jack motor up to change it!
