We have the 2007 Ford Focus torn apart at this very minute. It has a timing chain.

As a matter of fact, it is going to be a tricky little witch to time. It has a diamond washer that holds the crank pulley and timing gear and timing balance shaft gear all together. The only way to time it is to follow the manufacturer's directions.
