Yes it does, as well as the 370, 400, and 460.
the bell housing bolt pattern is the same but the flywheel on 460 is thicker and makes they pressure plate hit bellhousing from 351m/400 there for it will not work you have to have a bellhousing from a 429 or 460
The short answer is NO you cu_nt. 400 uses same belhousing pattern as 460, 429, 400 & 351M
NO-the bell housing of a 390 has the bolt pattern from the FE family of motors,352,360,390,406,427,and 428. The 400 (m) is the same as a 351(m),429, and 460 bolt pattern, They are two completely different patterns.
yes,it will also fit a 351m and 429

No a 351/400 is the same as the 429/460 Big block style, the 351W is the small block motor style like the 289, 302, 351C, 300 I-6. If the bell housing unbolts from the housing find the small bolt patter to match the tranny.
Only if you swap out the transmission also. The 302 uses the small block bellhousing and the 400M uses the 351M, 400M 429, 460 bellhousing. Hope this helps..
No. You need a transmission for a 351 (5.8L) windsor, 302 (5.0L) or 300 (4.9L)6 cylinder. The 460 Trans will fit a 460, 429, 400, or 351 M or Modified. The 351M is a big block. Your 351 HO is a 351 W or Windsor. It's a small block.answernot all ho were windsor but you may have to change bell housing then it will fit
it depends what engine the truck originally had. If the transmission was bolted to a big block (429, 460, 400) then yes, if it was bolted to a 351 windsor, 302, 360, etc. then no it will not. in order to get it to fit you will have to get a new transmission. hope this helps. you may have to engineer some motor mounts as well because i dont believe the 351m was available in 84.
the 351m/400 are the same engine the only difference is the crank and the pistons. as far as big block heads u can put 429/460 heads on it but u can put a decent set of 4v 351 Cleveland heads on it and a 4v intake with a 4 barrel carb on there then youll have a real torque monster
Bell 206, Bell 407, and Bell 429 are the commonly used types of air ambulances. Other airplanes for the job include the Eurocopted AS350 and the Eurocopter EC 145.
Will a Ford f150 transmission off a 302 motor fit a 360 Ford motor? The year and type of transmission will have a lot to do with this swap. The Ford 300(L6) and 289/302/351W and the 351C all have the same bolt pattern. The two top, rear holes on the engine block measure 5 1/4" center to center. The Ford 352/360/390/427 and 428 all have the same bolt pattern. The two top, rear holes on the engine block measure 6" or 6 1/8" center to center. The Ford 351M/400M/429 and 460 all have the same bolt pattern. The two top, rear holes on the engine block measure 7 3/4" center to center. In the late 1960's, the cast iron-Cruise-O-Matic 3 speed automatic transmission was behind the 352/360/390 V-8's in Ford trucks. In the early 1970's to 1979, the C-4 and the C-6 automatic transmission werebehind the 302/360/351M/400M/429 and 460 V-8'sIn the 1980 to 1996, the Automatic Overdrive (AOD) / C-5 and the C-6 were used in Ford trucks with the 300ci L-6 engine and the 302/351W and 351M V-8 engines. If the bell housing is bolted to the transmission and the transmission is the same length as the old one, replace the bell housing with one that has the same bolt pattern as the 360ci. Use the flywheel, torque converter and starter from the 360ci.If the transmission is not the same length, the drive shaft will be either too long or too short. The transmission's tail shaft may be a short shaft or a long shaft. You will need to measure; to be sure other problems are not created by this swap. This information is based on a ½ and ¾ ton (4x2) two-wheel drive, automatic transmission, Ford trucks and it is all from my memory.Sincerely,Blue Collar Shift Worker (RLB) in Northwest Florida 12/30/2008
