It has timing chain and gears. NO BELT
There is no timing belt in that engine. It has a timing chain.
chain
The k24t motor has a chain. That is the 2.4 litre, 4 cylinder motor. From what I remember - The V6 is also a chain.
I recently replaced the timing chain on my 1994 Toyota pick-up. That cost me ~$800 parts/labor.

HOW DO I INSTALL A TIMING BELT ON A 4D56 ENGINE
there is none. fortunately you have a timing chain on your car (I also have a '99) and it lasts forever. well, almost forever. I had one on a Toyota pick-up, 1980s vintage. eventually it came through the timing chain cover -- but never broke. it had over 200,000 mies on it at that point. something else killed the tuck, not the timing chain.
Yes.
It's the same as a small block chevy- 6 pm- 12 pm 6 : oclock on the cam shaft - 12: oclock on the crankshaft
it is under the timing chain cover located to left of the water pump if you are facing the engine. locate you fan and your fan is coming directly out of your timing chain cover if you have a 4.3.

if you pop ur hood you should see a rotating belt guide and on that belt rotation guide you should see a timing spec and if you cant see it move the guide and you should and directly above that is the other spec but if you dont know what they are, they are for firing your piston a evenly timed rates so you can get more or better proformance from you r pick up such as power and milage
