I think your question is written wrong, but I think you need some kind of breather or the engine can build up to much pressure inside.
They both are under the valve covers, where the oil is slinging everywhere, when the motor is running. Perfectly normal.
There will be a cap on the valve cover. Usually the drivers side, but, it varies.
Your climate may make a difference but 5W-30 covers most.
yes there is.
One of the valve covers.
Many. 348 would be a small block, whereas the 454 is a big block.
Chevrolet never made a 354 big block. So is say the difference is that a 496 is real and 354 is not. there is talk of a 354 small block but they are all from UK and id be inclined to say they are actually talking about a 355.
There is no difference what so ever. Same engines.
read casting numbers and research on the web. Just Google small block Chevy heads castine numbers. These numbers are under the valve covers so you will have to take one off.
Their the same
ON LATER MODELS LOOK AT THE REAR OF THE BLOCK NEAR THE DISTRIBUTOR AND IT WILL HAVE 5.0 OF 5.7 CAST INTO THE BLOCK
The block and valve covers were black. The block and valve covers were black.
