I have just purchased a 2000 EB and asked my Ford mechanic of 27 years buddy that same question. He told me, "Open the hatch in the rear on the left where the jack is, Take a flashlight and a mirror, and there should be a tag stuck up in there."
You will be reading the code backwards or upside down so keep that in mind. If not there, you should be able to get it from a dealer, but that sounds like a pain. I will look up there in the morning and hope for the best. I wouldn't be as concerned, if it were not for the autolock when put in gear. What a--hole designed that. It is already scheduled to be disabled (snip snip) in the morning. 10* and dark out now, but those are the first things on my list. If the window had not have been down, I would've been screwed thre times, and I have only owned it for a few hours....
Good Luck to both of us....

No, there is no similarity. On the 1999 Explorer the fuse panel is on the end of the dash visible with the driver's door open. On the 1999 Expedition the fuse panel is below the dash on the driver's side and it is a different shape.
I had to get the codes just recently. I went to the ford dealer and they were able to get them for me.
Open the drivers door and on the end of the door is an information sticker that shows the original size tire on the vehicle from the factory
