not positive about this but you may want to check the grounds where they are attached to the body. you may have to replace the wire ends on a clean spot (bare metal) and re-screw them down....
Appears to be no power to Brake Lihgt relay under hood
Yes, it is illegal to drive with brake lights not working. Brake lights are an important safety feature that alert other drivers when you are slowing down or stopping. Driving without functioning brake lights can increase the risk of accidents and is a violation of traffic laws.
A malfunctioning brake light and flasher relay switch will cause the brake lights and flashers to stop working. The relay switch can be found below the dashboard on the drivers side of the passenger compartment.
Please re-phrase your question; it appears you are saying the brake lights come on when you push the brake pedal and the lights are working (normal operation). If the lights are staying on after you release the pedal, then the problem is with th brake light switch (sticking). Thanks Malcolm
If none of the brake lights are working i would suspect the brake switch at the brake pedal.
Depends on in which way they are not working / in need of repair.See "Related Questions" below for replacing bulbs & a discussion about the brake light switch mounted at the brake pedal. These are 2 of the most common 'fixes'.
the brake light driver side not working
If the brake lights on your Chevy Colorado are not working, start by checking the brake light bulbs to see if they need replacement. Next, inspect the fuse related to the brake lights, as a blown fuse can cause them to fail. Additionally, examine the brake light switch, usually located near the brake pedal, as it may be faulty or misaligned. If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider consulting a mechanic for further diagnosis.
