If it is a continues clicking sound you here it is probably the starter solenoid. This does not mean the solenoid is defective, it means either the battery is low on charge or you have a bad connection from the battery to the starter. Turn the headlights "on" and try to start the engine. If the lights are bright when you are doing this, you probably have a bad connection. If the lights are dim when you turn them "on", check the connections to the battery, if the connections are good, the battery is low on charge. Next, check your battery and charging system.
Maybe you have a problem in your main wiring harness. No fun.. Could also be an electrical sensor.

supposedly, when you turn the key on it should "click" if it doesnt, not working.try turning the key off+on a few times to hear or feel a "click"
sounds like the starter motor needs replacing it is not the solenoid or it would not click

I have a Ford Taurus 92, and my cruise control is right on the steering wheel. There is an "on and off" switch on the wheel, and you click the on, and a cruise control button should be under those. (be sure to click "on" before you click the c.c.)
Yes!
From the information given, it is impossible to make a guess. Is it an 'electrical' click or a 'mechanical' click? Where is the "click"noise coming from? The engine compartment? the dashboard area? The ignition switch? the tapep player/radio? More info is needed.
Does it it start sometime and not others? Does it click when you turn the ignition to start but doesnt start? Then its probably bad. Make sure your battery is fully charged first.
