Remove fuel fill cap Turn on ignition Hear a hum? Check fuel pump pressure
If it has an electric fuel pump you will be able to hear it hum when you turn the car to the run posistion. If you can not hear it hum then its bad. On a mechanical fuel pump you can loosen on of the lines and crank the vehicle. If no fuel comes out the it is bad
Listen for a hum from under the middle of the vehicle when you turn the key to the on position. If you hear a 2 to 4 second hum, then the fuel pump is most likely working. If your vehicle has fuel but will not start, replace the fuel filter. If there is no hum, check the fuse first.
Defective fuel pump fuse, defective fuel pump relay, loose, corroded, or disconnected wiring. Lastly, the new fuel pump may be defective.
It is located on the toe-board to the right of the transmission hum in the passenger side foot area.

The pump is failing and will eventually stop altogether leaving you stranded. Replace the fuel filter and pump.
Check the compression. Fuel Pump, Turn Key to On position and open fuel cap and listen for a quite hum. Or Possibly but unlikely a clogged fuel filter. Lastly a fuel Pump Relay. you can replace all this for around $120 yourself. Also if you are changing the pump just lift the bed. Much easier than dropping the tank
