The fuel pump is inside each gas tank. If both have failed at the same time, it is probably something else. There is an inertial switch that cuts power to the fuel pumps in case of a good hit. This switch supplies power to a fuel pump relay which powers the pump. Also, both pumps go to a common fuel filter, so the problem could be with it as well.
