try to remove inner door panel to observe - lock is not releasing
Take the door panel off, there is a plastic or nylon clip that holds 2 of the rods together. It's located almost touching the lock mechanism inside the end of door. most auto parts stores sell them for 2-4 bucks. Good luck.
