there is a switch located under the dash located on the top of your break peddle check it for power on both sides i would just change the switch

They're LEDs. If some aren't working the entire assembly needs to be replaced.
Start by looking over the mechanism for the Pacifica parking brake. Make sure that the parts operate freely and the ratchet is working. If the unit is not simply stuck, then it will have to be replaced as a whole assembly.

How about a malfunctioning brake light switch
On a 1994 Honda Accord, the brake lamp comes on when a tail light is no longer working. The burned-out bulb needs to be replaced. The brake lamp will not come on after the bulb is replaced.
The brake lights on a 2005 Kia Rio Cinco are replaced by removing the retaining bolts, twisting the bulb, and pulling it from the assembly. A new bulb can then be put into place and the assembly remounted.
If you are referring to the 3rd brake lamp assembly, all you have to do is pull the left side of the plastic mount toward you if you are sitting in the back seat. the assembly pops right out and the bulb can be replaced.

shot fuse usually shot fuse usually 1998-2002 Mercedes 230 SLKs had a factory recall on the brake lights in ~2005. The upper brake bulb appears to be burnt out, but it is really the plastic in the light assembly heating up and warping so that the electrical contact of the bulb is lost. The entire light assembly must be replaced. Mercedes re-imbursed the previous bills for three replaced tail light assemblies on my 1999 230 SLK.
Working brake lights are important for safety reasons while driving. It is important to check all of the wiring, if the brake lights are not working and the fuses and bulbs have been checked.
The BOO (Brake On/Off) Switch may need to be replaced. If it is bad, it would cause the brake lights to NOT illuminate when the brake pedal is applied.
