Yes. I've a 2004 mondeo tdci and the dual mass flywheel went at 110,000 miles. It began with starter problems -sometimes working, sometimes not engaging. There was a build up of dust on the starter cog from the disintigrating flywheel. It cost about £650 to replace (including clutch)

have had the same problem and had to replace the flywheel and clutch..

after 65000 miles..mechanic was not impressed with the mondeo flywheel and replaced it with a passat part

Why would a Ford Mondeo diesel car stop running while driving?

A Ford Mondeo diesel car may stop running while driving due to several potential issues, such as fuel supply problems, like a clogged fuel filter or a malfunctioning fuel pump. Electrical issues, including a failing battery or alternator, can also lead to engine shutdown. Additionally, overheating due to coolant leaks or a malfunctioning thermostat can cause the engine to stop. Lastly, problems with the engine management system, such as a faulty sensor, can trigger a shutdown for safety reasons.

Did ford make any diesel cars?

I do not believe that Ford has in the past ever made any diesel cars, although the Ford Reflex is in the works - a hybrid consisting of diesel fuel, solar power, and electric-batteries. Also, a concept of a Ford Fiesta has been created in Europe, google that some time. The UK branch of Ford has begun to produce the Mondeo, a diesel powered sedan/wagon. Hope this helps!
