First off find out if your fuel injected or carb? if fuel injected try checking the MAF sensor on the air intake ( also check the air intake hose as if this is cracked it can give the same problems as if the MAF went bad). check all spark plugs and wires to make sure you are getting correct fire to each cylinder. Next check your vacuum lines as these are a constant source of issue if you have vacuum leaks. the next thing to check would be your egr valve ( you will need a multimeter for this as well as a manual for your vehicle. if all of these fail, find a mechanic. you got problems.

To convert 50 mph to RPM, you need to know the circumference of the tire. For example, if a tire has a diameter of 24 inches, its circumference is about 75.4 inches. First, convert 50 mph to inches per minute (50 mph = 3,960 inches per minute). Then, divide the speed by the circumference (3,960 inches per minute ÷ 75.4 inches ≈ 52.5 RPM). Thus, 50 mph is approximately 52.5 RPM for a tire with a 24-inch diameter.
