To start your Alero from the solenoid, first ensure that the battery is charged and the connections are secure. Locate the starter solenoid, which is typically mounted on or near the starter motor. Use a jumper wire to connect the positive terminal of the battery to the terminal on the solenoid that connects to the starter. This should engage the starter motor and crank the engine; however, exercise caution when performing this procedure to avoid electrical shorts or damage.
Ok, found out they don't use a cylinoid, only relay.
your alero wil start stalling and eventually stop..
"Cylinoid" is correctly spelled as "solenoid." A solenoid is a helix coil that is tightly wrapped. These are generally found in cars.
Hi..I recently had troubles with my alero, and it was the intake manifold gasket, which i guess is a common problem with 2000 alero's...i would get that checked out
check your ign. fuse. sounds like the starter cylinoid, but first make sure the battery is not dead(good head lights)check connections for corrosion and snug fittings. the cylinoid is located on the starter.the red wire from the battery goes to it.the problem could also be in the switch.to find where the problem is you will need to test power to the s termanal at the cylinoid with the switch in the "start position" if you have voltage when trying to start will indicate a bad cylinoid no voltage at start is a bad switch or wireing to the starter.
I have a 2003 Alero While it sits in the sun for hours it will not start up and when the sun goes down it will start what could be the problem
yes
It probably won't start
that horseshoe shaped metal is to hold the air cylinoid into the air spring. check the air cylinoid make sure it is in place. that horseshoe shaped metal is to hold the air cylinoid into the air spring. check the air cylinoid make sure it is in place.
It could either be a starter gone bad or it could be a bad cylinoid. If the starter motor does not spin that would cause the engine not to turn over. The best thing is to buy the cylinoid first then if that does not work replace the starter motor. It never hurts to replace both.
always on nomatter what i do
1. dead battery 2. bad starter 3. bad cylinoid
