Have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth with the weight of the vehicle still on the front wheels. Do not jack up the vehicle to perform this test. Look at the drag link joints, there should be NO play up and down or sideways in the joints. If you are not sure, a garage can diagnose this quickly at a low or no cost.
