If you have an LED test lamp Switch ignition on Connect LED test lamp between terminal 7 & earth of the diagnostic connector located on the vehicles inner wing After 3 seconds 5 green LEDs will illuminate switch ignition off

This E46 can be reset by the following method. With the key in the off position push and hold the odometer trip reset button ( left button ). While holding it turn the key to the first position. Keep holding it ( about 5 seconds ) until one of the following words appears on the display; "Oil Service" or "Inspection" with "Reset". Press and hold the trip reset button again until the word "Reset" starts to flash. While "Reset" is flashing press the button again briefly. The display will show the new interval and and show "End SIA." If you don't see the "Oil Service" or "Inspection" from above, you must use up 2.5 gallons of fuel before this procedure will allow you to reset the light.
