What is the timing for a 1998 ford ranger 2.5l
You cant. It is all controlled by the ecu.
computer controlled.
u cant most newer vehicles timing is controled by the cars computer
You cant. Timing is controlled my crankshaft position sensor and other sensors that monitor air flow and engine load. The PCM is ultimatley responsible for timing control by reading sensor input values.
you set timing by the marks on the cam shaft and the crank shaft. they should point at together to make it run right.
According to my Haynes Manual the timing as not adjustable. It is controlled by the onboard computer. What can make a difference ,however is if the mechanical timing of the camshafts etc which is set when you change the timing belt or other repairs. Normally if the mechanical timing is correct the engine timing will be correct unless you have a sensor or computer problem. From the bigtomato

how do i set the timing on a 1998 cadillac deville 4.6
The timing specifications for a 1999 Ford Contour with a 2.0L DOHC engine typically involve a timing belt replacement interval of about 100,000 miles. The correct alignment for the timing marks should be set to TDC (Top Dead Center) on the crankshaft for proper timing. The camshaft timing should be aligned with the timing marks on the camshaft sprockets and the cylinder head. Always refer to a service manual for the most accurate and specific procedures for your vehicle.
