To program the garage opener in a GM car, first ensure the vehicle is in park and turn on the ignition. Press and hold the two outer buttons on the HomeLink system until the indicator light changes from a slow blink to a rapid blink. Next, hold the garage door opener remote close to the HomeLink buttons and press the button you wish to program until the HomeLink light blinks slowly and then changes to a steady light. Finally, press the programmed HomeLink button to test the operation of your garage door.
It may not be compatible, I believe GM is using their own universal remote system, not the "homelink" system, Marantec motors are only compatible with "homelink". You may be able to add an external module to the Marantec motor unit for the car remote to be programmable. For any escalade after 2006, it has a lear vs homelink. Even though there is a button on the Marantec garage door opener motor head with a P on it, this does not program the button. I just got off the phone with Lear, 866-572-2728, and as soon as I told them I had a 2007 escalade and a marantec opener, they said they would ship me a conversion module that plugs into an outlet and hooks up to terminal 3&4 on the opener. She said this would allow me to program my escalade homelink / lear button. Can't wait to get it in the mail and try it to see if it works!
you need to bring the remote and the car to a GM dealership and have them do it. its like 50 for the remote and 50 for them to program it
Read your owners manual or call GM consumer help line at 1-800-222-1020 Instructions for programming the Suburban's remote: 1. Hold down the 2 outside buttons on the universal three channel garage door opener until the red light begins to flash rapidly. This initializes the memory and erases any previous settings for all 3 channels. 2. Decide which of the 3 channels you want to program. 3. Hold the end of the hand held transmitter against the bottom surface of the universal transmitter (less than 1 inch) so that you can still see the red light. 4. Simultaneously press the hand held transmitter button and the desired button on the universal opener. Hold both of the buttons until you see the red light on the universal garage door opener flash rapidly. This could take up to a minute or more. 5. Release both of the buttons. The universal garage door opener is now programmed. For Canadian users, during the programming the customers hand-held transmitter may automatically stop programming after 1 or 2 seconds. This may not be long enough to program the HomeLink
