Not sure what you mean by change the ignition on a diesel, diesel engines don't have spark plugs, spark plus wires, coil, etc.... If you are asking about the ignition switch, it is mounted on top of the steering column on most pre 2000, after that they are located in the steering column.
No the wiring isn't the same
I had the oil pan replaced on my 1999 e350 cube van with a 7.3 powerstroke diesel last year. The mechanic had to disconnect the transmission, and raise the engine enough to remove the oil pan.
To reset the oil change light on a 2009 Ford E350, turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press the gas pedal three times within five seconds, then turn the ignition off. When you turn the ignition back on, the oil change light should be reset. If it doesn't turn off, repeat the process.

To change the ignition switch on a 1986 Ford E350, first disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent any electrical shorts. Then, remove the steering column covers and locate the ignition switch, which is typically mounted on the column. Disconnect the wiring harness from the switch and unbolt it from the column. Finally, install the new switch, reconnect the wiring, and reassemble the steering column covers.
