be carefull, if its a new compressor, than it needs oil and it's tricky, because you don't know if someone else has added oil, and how much is in the lines etc...
too much oil can cause problems....
Get the new recharging Kit called "A/C for Dummies" at a chain parts store, and read up...you'll get all the tips and tricks a pro would use...also..
Everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and a professional shop manual should be available at your local library, just make copies of the right pages, as they are usually REFERENCE only...read up and good luck :)
Ok lets make it simple!!
First you need to look at your old ac compressor it will tell you how much oil
is required . Call your local auto parts store to get the correct type this is very important. In the back of the compressor where the ac lines connect is where
you install the oil put half on the low side (suction) the the rest on the other side. Also turn the clutch by hand on the compressor about 12 times to lube
the seal or it will have a leak. To find the suction side turn the ac clutch by hand
and see which side sucks in the oil. Hope this helps!! Good luck
NO, it does not.
No, the oil will run out of the compressor causing it to seize. An air conditioner can be stored on it's side but if it is allow 24 hours before starting it.
No, oil will ruin the clutch. Noise that sound like you need oil means a bearing or the compressor has failed.
Turning an air conditioner on its side can cause the compressor oil to flow into the refrigerant lines, potentially damaging the unit and affecting its performance. It is recommended to keep the air conditioner upright to prevent any issues.
NO If the unit is on its side or upside down, the oil can run out of the compressor and it will seize up. They do make a vertical air conditioner to fit into the taller windows which open side to side.
The Mazda Miata air conditioning drain to can be found on the bottom of the air conditioner compressor. The drain to runs to the bottom of the oil pan.
Yes since the a/csystem also has refrigerate oil in it the oil will drop down to the lowest parts of the system and this can lead to o-ring, compressor and compressor seal failure.......
Absolutely not!! It will ruin it. It is designed to work in a wall in a horizontal position. The compressor depends on internal oil to keep itself lubricated and cool ,,,,The oil will plug up the compressor and just not work.
The complete system 8 ounces...... Just the a/c compressor, 4 ounces...
