You need to purchase the bypass kit from your local stereo install shop. in the 98 you have Passlock II i believe. If im wrong its passlock I. either way the bypass is pretty easy to do. You will however require a digital volt meter as you will be required to measure the resistance in some pretty small gauge wires.

If you pull the fuse on it, the car will be disabled. I am not 100% sure how to bypass it as mine came with an aftermarket alarm. To disable that, I just removed the 'brains' under the steering column. Haven't had a problem since.
