The quickest and easiest way to replace the gaitor is to go along to your local motor factors and ask for a universal gaitor.

What you will get is a gaitor which has a split along it's length. You cut the ends of the gaitor off to suit the size of your CV joint and the shaft. You then run the super glue supplied down the seam of the new gaitor, Wrap it around your CV joint, hold the seams together until the glue dries.

Remembering of course to cut the old gaitor off first.

The whole process should take no more that 10 to 15 minutes and does not involve the removal of any mechanical parts.
