You'll need to pull the engine and remove the flywheel (if it's a manual transmission) or remove the flex plate (if it's an automatic transmission).
At that point,the rear main seal is RIGHT THERE, and all you'll need to do is pop out the old one and press in a new one.
However...
A rear main seal typically doesn't just go bad for no reason. Check for "blow-by". Sometimes internal pressure can contribute to the failure of a rear main seal.
Also, if the vehicle has low oil pressure or low compression, you'd be ahead if you just rebuild the engine while you have it out.
