The switch is located on top of the transmission. Also called a transmission safety switch. 2 bolts and a plug in. Should take about 20 or 30 minutes to change. Get your new one and then you will know excatly what your looking for and it will be a snap! My Trannsmission would kick into neutral (seemed like it was slipping) then back into gear. Replacing this switch should take care of that type problem. Even though everyone will want to seel you a rebuild!
it is located where the transmission is and is very easy to change. on a 2000 ford contour that is.
You replace.
Not sure what you mean by transmission selector sensor. The transmission range sensor reads what position you have selected with the gear shift lever.
On the transmission selector you put your shifter in neutral position and then you can move the transfer case selector to high or low.
It might be the transmission range selector
range sensor is located inside transmission. remove pan and it is attached to shift selector rod and vave body.
Had same problem with 1998 ford contour gl. Replaced transmission range sensor and problem stopped.
On a 1997 Dodge truck, the neutral switch, also known as the transmission range selector switch, is typically located on the transmission itself. It is mounted on the side of the transmission and is connected to the gear selector mechanism. This switch helps determine the position of the transmission and ensures that the vehicle can only start in park or neutral. For specific access, you may need to lift the truck and remove any protective covers to reach it.
What about it? It's impossible to provide and answer if you don't ask a complete question.
It's known as a "Super 10"
Directly on top of the transmission. It has the shiny post going through the center of it and 1 electrical connection. Easily accessible
It has a "transmission range sensor" which also functions as a neutral safety swich; it is located on transmission where the gear selector cable attaches (cable attaches to range sensor).
