To change a freeze plug on a 1991 Ford 302 engine, first drain the coolant and remove any obstructions to access the freeze plug. Use a punch or chisel to carefully tap around the edge of the old plug until it loosens, then pry it out. Clean the area thoroughly and apply sealant to the new freeze plug before tapping it in place, ensuring it is seated properly. Finally, refill the coolant and check for leaks.
i have a 1994 Chevy beretta and they are under the engine
Freeze (Expansion) plugs are located in the Engine cooling system. There is no specific location where they must be. They can be installed in the block, cylinder heads, and often in both locations.
you have to remove the motor and it still a painfull time consuming job
According to one of Ford's websites : For a 1991 LTD Crown Victoria , 5.0 liter / 302 cubic inch V8 : ( .050 inch spark plug gap )

There is a large bolt on the bottom of the crankcase, underneath the brake.....that is your drain plug.
