Take it to a mechanic. If you are asking that question on this forum then it is too complicated for you and you could mess up a lot of stuff if you do it wrong.
The only seals on the driveshaft itself would be on the slip yoke. You're probably thinking of the pinion seal, which is at the front of the differential, behind the input yoke to the differential.
Rear you have to change the entire hub assembly Front you have to remove the axle shaft
There is either a problem with the actuator in the front differential--BAD ACTUATOR. Are there is a problem with the differential ---RING and PINION asembley.
Perhaps something in your front differential is not right and it is spinning your front drive shaft, instead of vice versa.
To remove the front drive shaft on a Honda quad, start by securing the vehicle and ensuring it’s on a flat surface. Disconnect the front wheels and any components obstructing access to the drive shaft, such as the front differential and any linkage. Use appropriate tools to remove the bolts securing the drive shaft to the differential and the front axle. Carefully slide the drive shaft out, taking care not to damage any surrounding components.
I believe it's called a trans-axle output shaft seal. Could also be the front differential pinion seal.
The Prop shaft (front drive shaft) has a ball type cv joint that sits in bearings that connects to the transfer case. This is most likely shot and you need a front prop shaft (front drive shaft) complete with rubber boot and differential cv universal joint.
To remove the front drive shaft on a 2001 Honda Foreman 450 ES, first ensure the ATV is on a flat surface and securely supported. Disconnect the front differential by removing the bolts that secure it, and then detach the drive shaft from the front differential and the front axle. Be sure to mark or remember the orientation of the parts for reassembly. Finally, slide the drive shaft out of the transmission or drive case.
it would be cheaper to buy a 4x4 vehicle u need to change out the front end suspension , such as springs steering, axle.then u need to change transmission to one that accomadates a transfer case.then u need to change rear drive shaft to match, u also need to buy front drive shaft. after getting all this you then need to make sure rear differential and front differential both have same gear ratios
Yes, the shaft is still connected to the front tires through the front differential, so it will turn while driving.
To change a Jeep Commander front drive shaft, first, lift the vehicle securely and remove the front wheels for better access. Disconnect the drive shaft by unbolting it from the transfer case and the front differential using a socket wrench. Replace it with the new drive shaft, ensuring the bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications. Finally, reassemble any components you removed, lower the vehicle, and test drive to ensure everything is functioning properly.
More than likely you will need a new transmission, a new front axel with differential and a half shaft.
