my handle just broke yesterday on my 97 Z71 so just for fun i tried to take off my door, well to understand it better, and first you have to unscrew the screws in the door theres only two. then get a knife or a screw driver and slide it in the cracks of the door handle trim theres three of those snap on things and after that just pull the door off, its guna sound nasty like your braking it but i promise your not it just takes some muscle.
