You must have a specialcaliper turning tool. The left side turns back inclockwise right one turns back in clockwise too. I found my tool at sears I check with the Ford house hear but thy did not have one and Auto Zone/Checker Had one but it did not have the right space nibs a check your parts house. I found some other help on line and he seed the right caliper needs to turn counter clockwise ? When I tried it the caliper started to get real loose, Witch to me did not look right so I stopped and went the other way and after some time it retracted and the new pad's fit. PS. One trick I used. The brake pad housing likes to hang loos and moves when I used the tool so I took one of the bolts and reattached one side of the housing so that it could not move when the tool was used.
