This is one of the most inane questions I have seen on this board. However, here it is. Locate the filter housing right behind the battery. loosen the clips(or bolts, depending on model year) around the housing. Lift the housing and remove the filter. Feeling really stupid yet???
I looked at the Mercury Villager Owner Guides from ( 1996 , 1999 , and 2002 ) With engine oil filter change : Each Owner Guide shows ( 4.2 U.S. quarts )
To change the thermostat on a 2002 Mercury villager, pull the hose away. If the bolts do not come off, wiggle the fitting to expose the thermostat to be able to change it.
Bottom front of engine.
1999 - 2002.
Just unclamp hoses, pull them off, and put a new one on.
the transmission has to be spit apart in order to change the trans filter.
You must remove the instrument cluster to do so.
Should be a T-40 Torx bit.
There are two.
1999-2002 Villager or Nissan Quest.
Plug in a scan tool.
