1- Pop the hood.

2- Disconnect the battery.

3- Disconnect the eletrical connections on the alternator and remember where they go.

4- Loosen the bolts but don't remove. Rock the alternator sideways and take off the belt.

5- Take out the bolts, remove the alternator, replace with the new one and reverse the procedure. Before tightening the bolts, pull the alternator sideways to tension the belt. The belt should have 1/2" of play at the longest span between two pulleys. If the belt squeals, it is not tight enough. Maybe get an extra hand from that mechanical guy down the street.
