I Have a 1997 Expedition and my EGR valve is right on top of the motor under the throttle body cover. It looks like a saucer and is very easy to change. One side you need a crescent wrench to loosen the large nut and the other side you just need the right size socket and /or deep well socket to remove the bolts that hold the other side on. Also take of all vacuum line and wire that are attached to it.
