I just did this yesterday.
Make sure you check the wheel seal (mine there was only the metal ring left, might as well replace it while you've got her apart. If you don't, you'll kill your bearing/hub assembly. They are $10 at napa), and the hub assembly. The hub assembly can be checked by putting it in a vice and trying to get any lateral movement. If you get any, replace it. They're $80 at napa. Mine was completely shelled out, and fell apart as i remove the rotor. Also, when putting the slide bolts back into the caliper, make sure to lubricate them with SliGlide or some sort of high temp caliper lubricant. Otherwise they'll freeze up, you'll wear down your inner pad extra, and you'll lose braking power.
I have a leak on my drive shaft left front 2000 cheve Blazer I would like to replace the whole unit
you dont, if you want to disconnect it then remove your front drive shaft.
nic
It is bolted on to the rear of the transmission. The front driveshaft will lead you right to it. Also Follow the rear drive shaft toward the front it will also lead you to it
Rear you have to change the entire hub assembly Front you have to remove the axle shaft
The crank shaft positioning sensor should be located at the front of the engine just below and to the left of the harmonic balancer. On the timing cover.
Inside the bottom of the engine block.
Next to the distributor
Inside the transmission. I believe it's bolted to the flywheeel in front of the transmission and connected to the transmmission by it's output shaft which has a cog cut out of iit to match a similar shaft in the transmission.
tAKE THE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT LOOSE AND SEE IF IT STILL DOES IT IF IT DOES ITS THE FRONT CARRIER ASSEMBLY IF IT DONT ITS THE TRANSFERCASE
there could be more than one factor it sounds like the actuator is bad or if your blazer has partial vacumm control then you could have a vacumm leak
by separating the lower balljoint and sway bar on that side
