Continue turning an place your filter into pan to drain out. Prep area by cleaning filter seat ( bottom of the motor) with the same rag as used to wipe off the filter earlier. Fill filter 1/4-1/2 full (to make sure the engine has oil on the start, dry start=damage!) any slight spillage is okay use some of that to rub around the rubber O-ring atop the filter.
