Typically, you only need to replace the top sensor(s). If it's a 4 cylinder Saturn, just replace the sensor that is near the junction of the exhaust manifold and the headpipe.

If it's a V6 Saturn, replace BOTH sensors that are near the junction of the exhaust manifold and headpipes.

They screw out, much like a sparkplug. If you purchase an exact replacement, you can just plug in the new sensor. But some of the aftermarket sensors (many of which actually work better/longer than OEM) are equipped with only a wire bundle which must be spliced to the old sensor cable.

It's a simple process, and should only take a few minutes.

A socket has been specially designed to help you remove the sensors. It has a slot where you can thread the wire to prevent damage to the new sensor.

The rear/bottom sensor(s) do not typically fail unless the engine is burning a LOT of oil.
