"Remove the transmission oil pan for filter access"
While that is a step you COULD take it's not the proper one. A proper trans service does include changine the filter and the fluid, but it also includes flushing and conditioning. This typically takes special equipment for a job done right. I would recommend purchasing a FACTORY shop manual and studying it before taking on a repair such as this, as screwing THIS job up can cost you a transmission!
"which fluids?" No the Eagle Talon is not fluid in state. As a whole, it is typically considered a solid.
DOT 3 brake fluid
no it wont. the blocks are different..
On an Eagle Talon, the transmission fluid dipstick is typically located near the back of the engine bay, often on the driver's side. To check the fluid level, you’ll need to pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then remove it again to check the level. The transmission fluid fill plug is usually located on the side of the transmission itself. Always refer to your owner's manual for specific details regarding your model.
there is no filler cap. pull the tranny dipstick and use a funnel.
On the lower front side of the transaxle housing. There is a threaded plug.
Park or neutral has the same effect. Either one will do.
If its an automatic the transmission is slipping and will either need a fluid and filter change or rebuilt altogether. If it a straight drive it may need a synchronizer replaced
yes the transmission will still operate correctly
For a 1992 Eagle Talon with a 5-speed manual transmission, it's recommended to use a high-quality manual transmission fluid, typically a 75W-90 gear oil. Brands like Mobil 1 or Red Line are preferred for their performance. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations and ensure the fluid meets the required specifications for your vehicle.
For a 1997 Eagle Talon AWD Turbo with a manual transmission, it is recommended to use a high-quality synthetic gear oil that meets the specifications of API GL-4. Typically, a 75W-90 weight fluid is suitable for this application. Always check the owner's manual for any specific manufacturer recommendations and ensure the fluid is compatible with the transmission.
Yes, but the flywheel and pressure plate is diferent between turbo and non turbo.
