You need to remove the bottom pan off of the transmission. There is not a dran plug. It is a messy job if you do not have the proper large square transmission oil catch funnel. == == You can remove the bolts from one corner of the pan, loosen the rest of them leaving the bolts at the opposite corner farther in and out farther and farther until you get to the ones that have been removed. Then pry the corner with no bolts loose, the fluid will drain out that corner not making a mess, as long as the drain pan is situated correctly.
After it finishes draining, hold the pan up with one hand, or a floor jack with a wooden board on top, as you remove the rest of the bolts. When you lower the pan there will still be fluid in it, easily poured into the drain pan.
A new transmission filter comes with a new gasket, no sealant is necessary, just make sure the mating surfaces are clean and dry before installing it. also some blue lock-tight on the bolt threads will keep them from working loose over time. I would suggest tightening the bolts from the center out, the torque is minimal, over tightening will snap off the bolts and cause leaks.
