Its pretty easy. Just loosen the serpentine belt. Take the lower hose off the radiator to drain the block. Take out all the bolts holding the pump on.There are three different types of bolts used used so remember where they go. Clean all the surfaces on the block , I use a Razor blade then some carb cleaner to remove any oil. Use a little silicone gasket sealer on the new gasket . Install in reverse of above, your done.

To change the water pump on an 1985 Cadillac Seville, first disconnect the battery and drain the coolant. Remove the serpentine belt, followed by the water pump pulley and any associated components obstructing access. Unscrew the water pump bolts, remove the old pump, clean the gasket surface, and install the new water pump with a new gasket. Finally, reassemble everything, refill the coolant, and reconnect the battery.
