Hi, ALL 4 cylinder vehicles use 1-3-4-2 as the firing order. Number 1 cyl. being the one closest the front or belt end of the engine. If the vehicle has a distibutor you need to take the cap off and bump the starter to see if it turns counter or clockwise. If it has a coil pack you can go to a parts store and sneek a peek in the proper repair manual. If the index does not reference 'firing order' look in 'tune up' or 'engine electrical' it will be there. Good luck.

Double check, then triple check your firing order. Especially which distributor post is #1. Sounds like you're one off.

the Firing Order is 1342. Be sure to check the direction that the Distributor goes, ours went Counter Clock Wise.
