Your car may be low on Brake fluid. Pop the hood and check the brake fluid reservoir. There is usually a line that shows how much fluid should be in the reservoir. It should be pretty full, so add fluid if needed. Perhaps you have some sort of brake fluid leak?

More than likely you are low on brake fluid and it is coming on and off as the car tilts over shifting grades of ground. Check your break fluid levels. A break light only comes on for two reasons: you are low on fluid or the parking break is on.
