I have an 86 Camaro that needs the same thing done. I was told to take my car to a place where they can remove gas from the tank (like a radiator shop), remove the tank and then take it to a place where they clean out the tank and then re-coat the inside.
In the meantime, I'm replacing fuel filters instead of taking the car to the radiator place, I'm gonna have a mechanic friend remove the tank and then I'll go talk to a person at a carburetor place to find out who cleans and coats the inside of the gas tank for me.
