You will need to change it out. The bearing is failing.
The system should have an automatic belt tensioner. If the belt is loose the tensioner must be shot. The tensioner is available from your local auto parts store.
yes, the fan bearing is worn out
To get the belt off, you have to put a breaker bar into the square hole in the tensioner, and either pull up or down. The tensioner spring is what tighten's the belt. It is just three bolts then to get the tensioner off.
You will need to loosen the tensioner pulley. Put the alternator belt on. Push the tensioner pulley to the left until the alternator belt is tight. Tighten down the tensioner pulley.
There is a spring loaded tensioner that holds the tension on the belt. Get a wrench that fits the nut on the tensioner and apply alot of clockwise pressure that will losen the tensioner and allow the belt to go on and off.
it was standard but you could order it with an automatic from the factory
Remove it, and install a shorter belt.
That would be a 4L80E automatic transmission.
= What is the automatic transmission fluid capacity for a 1994 Chevrolet 1500 pickup? =
There is no adjustment. If it will not keep the belt tight then either the belt has stretched to the point it needs replacing or the tensioner is defective and needs replacing.
It would be the 700R4
NO!
